We all need a support system to help us as we move through our grief journey.  While family and friends are vital, unless they have experienced a close personal loss, they most likely do not fully “get it”.  That is where Living Through Grief can become a valuable resource for you.  Although this is not a support group, we encourage you to come so you can have the opportunity to begin the healing process.

Baby Blues (ages 18+)

Are you struggling after having a baby?  Postpartum depression is a type of mood disorder connected with childbirth.  This monthly program is designed for caregivers of children from birth to age one, and is in partnership with The Mama Coach program.

After working hard all week, it is time for dads to get down and do what they do best, play actively with their children on Dadurday.

Bike Rodeo (all ages)

Bike Rodeo

Learn about bike safety and preventing bicycle concussions followed by helmet demonstration.  Professionals will inspect and repair your bicycles and check our helmet for proper fitting.

Cold Lake Youth Council (ages 12-17)

This is a youth-led, volunteer-based organization that acts as a voice for the young people of Cold Lake and as peer advocates on civic and social issues.  They promote youth activism and civic engagement.  Members develop communication and leadership skills while building their resume and making new friends.

Humane Society (0-6) 2 PM - 3 PM

Humane Society

When children interact with animals, they have a rich learning experience in developing self-esteem, responsibility, improved social skills and much greater empathy.  Join a PLC staff and the volunteers from the Lakeland Humane Society for a tour and interactions with the animals.

“I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!”

Enjoy creating garden rocks together at the long-term care garden, and then reward yourself with a tasty ice cream treat!  This event celebrates both young children and seniors in our community.  The Early Childhood Development Coalition and Senior’s Advocacy bring this initiative to you.
