The City of Cold Lake will re-route the existing sanitary sewer within the Pelican Rock Subdivision. This realignment will bring the sanitary system in line with the City’s engineering standards, improving both connectivity and capacity of the sanitary sewer within the subdivision.

Location: 2402 Pelican Close, Cold Lake

Schedule

Spring 2025: Underground construction to start and then surface works construction to follow

June 2025: Completion

Background

The developer has unresolved deficiencies within their project that have been outstanding for an extended period. The current sanitary sewer system flows from one private development, through a public road right-of-way, and into another private development, which creates both administrative and operational challenges.

Budget

Approved budget: $400,000.00

Funding Source

  • Cold Lake Air Weapons Range (CLAWR): $400,000

How will this benefit the Community?

The project will expand the developable land inventory within the City of Cold Lake, increasing housing availability for current and future residents. It will also ensure that services provided to the housing units meet the standards outlined in the City of Cold Lake's Engineering Guidelines.

Strategic Alignment

This project aligns with the City’s strategic plan by improving conditions within the subdivision and enabling further development within the City of Cold Lake.
