Councillor Raymond Cowell
Councillor Raymond "Ray" Cowell moved to Cold Lake in 2001 when posted to 4 Wing Cold Lake. Ray was elected to his first term in 2025 and aims to represent all residents while fostering growth and unity across the community he proudly calls home.
Ray holds more than 24 years of military service, in which he always showed dedication and leadership. Outside of his role with the military, Ray has served on numerous boards and committees, including the 4 Wing Military Family Resource Centre, Mackenzie Housing Representative, Block Parents, and Big Brother. Ray has been a proud business owner in the community since 2013, having founded or co-founded three local businesses over the years.
Now retired from the military, Ray continues to volunteer in the community, including as a Director for the Cold Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce, and by mentoring emerging entrepreneurs through Community Futures Lakeland, among other roles.
Ray's greatest source of pride is his family. He is happily married to his wife Melanie, and a proud father of his daughter Cadence, who lives in Winnipeg.
A proud veteran, entrepreneur, and community builder, Ray looks forward to serving Cold Lake with the same dedication and determination he has shown throughout his life.
