Councillor Ryan Bailey

Councillor Ryan Bailey was born and raised in Medicine Hat and he has called Cold Lake home since 2002. He was first elected to City Council in 2021.

After completing his studies in Education and Drama at Medicine Hat College and the University of Lethbridge, Ryan began working as a teacher and continues teaching today in Cold Lake.  

Outside the classroom, Ryan is very active in the community, officiating minor baseball and football, co-directing several school musical productions including Annie, The Music Man, Fiddler on the Roof and Into the Woods, and directing and producing plays for the 4 Wing Military Family Resource Centre's Summer Theatre Camp. 

In his City Council role, Ryan wants to improve the city for all residents and ensure everyone in Cold Lake is represented in Council Chambers. 

Ryan is married with two children, two dogs and several geckos!
