Councillor Bob Buckle

Councillor Bob Buckle has lived in the City of Cold Lake since 2002, after moving to the city to purchase a local business. Prior to his move west, Bob was a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

He was first elected to council in October 2007, and had a successful return to the role in the 2010, 2013, and 2017 elections.

Though Bob enjoys travelling with his wife, the beauty of Cold Lake’s outdoors always brings him home. He appreciates the community’s diversity and uniqueness: Not only do beautiful landscapes abound, but Canada’s second-largest oil resource is nearby, and he enjoys the privilege of having fighter jets buzz overhead as Cold Lake is the proud home of Canada’s busiest fighter base.

When he’s not at City Hall or attending an event in the community, Bob serves as Chair of the Regional Utility Commission, and serves on the Local & Composite Assessment Review Board. He is also a long-standing Director on the Cold Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce. As a member of council, Bob also serves as a representative on a number of local committees and organizations.
