Criminal Record Checks

The City of Cold Lake collects payment for criminal record and vulnerable sector checks on behalf of Cold Lake RCMP, as per the Criminal Record Check Fee bylaw.

Important to note: The City of Cold Lake does not accept or process applications for criminal record checks - only the payment of related fees. No personal information will be collected at City Hall, aside from the applicant's name to be printed on the receipt. All criminal record check applications must be completed in person at the Cold Lake RCMP detachment.

To apply for a criminal record check:

1. Attend Cold Lake City Hall during regular business hours to pay the criminal record check fee. Payments must be made in person and cannot be made online. To qualify for the reduced Volunteer Applicant fee, applicants must provide a letter from the volunteer organization stating that a criminal record check is required. City Hall staff will view the letter before processing the reduced fee.
2. You will be provided a receipt showing the applicant's name and proof of payment.
3. Take the receipt to the Cold Lake RCMP detachment to begin the application process.

 *To receive the reduced volunteer rate, the applicant must provide a letter from the volunteer organization stating that a criminal record check is required.
