Living Through Grief We all need a support system to help us as we move through our grief journey.  While family and friends are vital, unless they have experienced a close personal loss, they most likely do not fully "get it".  That is where Living through Grief can become a valuable resource.  Although this is not a support group, we encourage you to come so you can have the opportunity to begin the healing process.  Gain coping skills and tools to help you though difficult days.  Gain hope through conversations with people who understand what you are going through.  Gain an understanding of how children and family members react to loss.  Join us in our "safe haven" setting where you can express your emotions and release feelings freely and confidentially.  Register or one or for all. Date:  Tuesdays, September 11, October 9 and November 12, 2018 Time:  6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Location:  Cold Lake and District FCSS Cost:  Free, registration is required

Changing The Conversation About Ageism Ageism is probably one of the biggest prejudices we have in today's society.  We all have ageist attitudes.  You are being ageist against yourself if you say something like, "Well, I'm too old, I can't do that anymore".  Birthday cards start at age 40 depicting jokes about growing older.  We think they are funny, and having humour is a necessity of life, however they are actually supporting negative attitudes about aging.  Join us in this collaboration with FCSS, the Grande Parlour actors and a highly engaging local guest speaker for a fun and interactive evening "Changing the Conversation about Ageism".  We encourage everyone from all ages to attend.
