This workshop is based on the “What to do when...” series of youth workbooks. Wouldn’t it be great if children did not worry at all? What if they could plant their worry and watch it grow into something resilient and beautiful? Many things may be on children’s minds, from what they are going to eat the next day to what friends they are going to play with at school. This interactive course is designed to empower kids to overcome their overgrown worries. Caregiving, in its many forms, can be challenging. It can impact you socially, mentally and physically. COMPASS is a supportive multi-session workshop facilitated by someone who understands how challenging caregiving can be. We discuss dealing with guilt and grief, managing stress, improving communication, navigating the system and planning for the journey ahead. The fee includes the manual and resources. Each kit includes information to support children with social-emotional skills, self-care information and fun activities they can do at home. Cold Lake and District FCSS in partnership with LICA are pleased to offer the public the opportunity to participate in The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup at Sandy Beach, Cold Lake. Volunteers are required to pre-register; please wear weather-appropriate clothing, work gloves, boots or hiking shoes. Volunteers are welcome to bring their own garbage-picking tools. COVID-19 protocols will be in place. Volunteers will be required to sign a waiver on-site before participating. Volunteer orientation will happen prior to beginning the cleanup. Depending on public interest, more cleanup dates may be announced.
