Our Planning and Development Department plays a central role in land use planning and community development within the city. They work with members of the public and businesses to issue development permits, building permits and business licences. The department is also responsible for helping to develop and implement key plans in the city, more of which can be found on the Plans, Reports, and Studies page.
In accordance with Section 638.2 of the Municipal Government Act, the following Bylaws, Policies, Plans and Standards may be referenced in the review of applications made to the Planning and Development Department under Part 17 of the Act.
