Hall of Fame

In 2017, the City of Cold Lake began honouring the legacies of outstanding local men, women and teams/organizations within the arts, culture and sports domains by inducting them into the Cold Lake Hall of Fame. Through an annual nomination process, up to two inductees within each of the categories of Athlete, Artist, Community Leader, Builder and Team/Organization will be awarded the distinction of being embedded into the Hall where their feats can be recognized by current and future generations.

FAQ

May 1st – Nomination Deadline

Nomination forms can be picked up at the reception desk at the Energy Centre or found online here. Forms are submitted to the City's Recreation Department c/o The Recreation Administrative Assistant for review. Nominees may not be inducted in the same year they are nominated and nomination forms are valid for a period of three years.

June 30th – Inductee Selection
No more than two inductees from each category are selected by and submitted to Council for approval.

August 31st – Inductee Approval
Cold Lake City Council shall consider the RCAC’s recommendations in consideration of the Hall of Fame Policy and approve all appropriate inductees.

Induction Ceremony
Inductees will be recognized in an annual induction ceremony and banquet.

Inductees will be enshrined by having a plaque with photo and bio placed at the Energy Centre as well as on the City website. Local media will be informed of the annual inductees through a press release.

Inductees must either be a native of Cold Lake or region (defined as within 25 kms of city limits), have substantial connections to the area or be a resident of the area during the period which the achievements were made. Teams or organizations must have been based within the City.
