Agreement signed between City and CGA Imaging inc.
Cold Lake Mayor Bob Mattice and Dr. Chander Gupta, the founder of CGA Medical Imaging Inc., signed an agreement today that provides the partnership framework to bring an MRI machine to the Cold Lake clinic.
The City will provide CGA with a $1.75 million loan towards the purchase of the MRI machine while the clinic will oversee the renovations and expansion needed to house and operate the MRI.
The City’s loan will be recouped through a revenue sharing agreement once the machine is operational.
Both the City and CGA Medical Imaging will work together to have the local service recognized for referrals by Alberta Health Services.
The MRI, which will be purchased and installed at the site over the coming months, will be capable of full body scans, with plans to eventually expand into its use for cardiac scans and breast cancer screening. It will be one of only a few MRI machines in the province with the ability to provide this range and quality of diagnostic imaging.
