Bill payments still due despite postal strike
Cold Lake, AB – Residents are being advised of potential impacts a postal strike can have on bills, payments, and statements.
Residents are reminded that all due dates still apply for taxes, utilities, or other accounts owing. For utility accounts, residents can register for e-billing to receive updated information and to pay their bill online.
“We have seen an increase in residents signing up for e-billing,” said Chief Administrative Officer Kevin Nagoya. “There is only about one-third of utility accounts that are still being mailed out.”
Accounts Receivable and bulk water accounts, along with residents, can register for e-billing at www.coldlake.com/utilities
For other payment amounts, such as taxes, residents can contact City Hall for an updated balance by emailing finance@coldlake.com with their name, address, and account number if applicable. City Hall has seen an increase in inquiries since the strike began, and staff are returning calls and emails as quickly as possible. Members of the public are thanked for their patience, as adapting financial processes can take time, and are advised that multiple calls or messages about the same account slows down the response time as a whole.
Local vendors expecting payments will be contacted when their cheque is ready to pick up from City Hall. Non-local vendors can contact City Hall to discuss payment arrangements.
