City crews continue work after snowstorm
City of Cold Lake Staff are continuing to work to maintain services and clear roads after a significant winter storm on February 17.
Residents are advised to limit travel if possible, and to keep a close eye on weather and road conditions and take precautions for any necessary travel.
City crews and contractors worked throughout the storm to keep Priority 1 roads open. Crews will continue to work on Priority 1, 2 and 3 roads, and will be planning to clear residential roadways as soon as possible. A snow-clearing schedule for residential areas will be shared on www.coldlake.com and via social media, however, residents should be aware that schedules will remain fluid and are subject to change given weather conditions and the availability of resources.
Any impact on municipal services will also be posted to the City’s social media channels.
The storm brought gusting snow amounting to 36.5 centimetres in the City of Cold Lake, according to Climate Change and Environment Canada. This is almost five times the next largest daily snowfall recorded in the community this winter season.
More information regarding the City of Cold Lake’s snow removal policy can be found at www.coldlake.com/snow.
