February grant applications approved for CRACH
Cold Lake, AB – Two grant applications for community funding were approved at the March 10 Council meeting.
The Community Recreation, Art, Culture, and Heritage Investment (CRACH) Grant received two applications for the month of February, totaling $11,500 in funding requests. The CRACH grant has a $250,000 annual budget. Overseen by the Community Grant Advisory Committee, the applications were reviewed for eligibility and a recommendation to council was made to approve both applicants.
“There has been a small decline in applications since 2024, likely as the grant program has solidified its footing,” said Mayor Bob Mattice. “The CRACH Grant has undergone several changes over the last two years, with the most notable change being a monthly application review instead of quarterly or bi-monthly.”
Other changes in the past two years have included a limit of one application per organization per calendar year.
“We’re thankful to the Advisory Committee for helping to keep this grant on track,” said Mattice. “It’s a lot of applications and a big pool of funds to try and navigate, making sure there is enough for everyone who is eligible to apply.”
The approved grants were:
- Bonnyville Health Foundation in the amount of $10,000 as a sponsorship of their Annual Hospital Gala.
- 86Cancer in the amount of $1,500 to cover the costs associated with ice rentals for their Annual Charity Hockey Tournament.
Council also reviewed and accepted final grant reports from previous organizations that received grant funding, as part of the grant criteria. For more information on city grants, visit www.coldlake.com/grants
