Official election results for the 2025 municipal election

Cold Lake, AB – The City of Cold Lake has submitted its official election results to Alberta Municipal Affairs.  

When the polls closed, 3,024 out of 10,781 eligible voters had cast a ballot, representing a turnout of roughly 28 per cent. The number of eligible voters was determined based on the total number of voters on the Permanent Elector Register received from Elections Alberta, plus voters who registered during the polls. In previous years, the number of eligible voters was estimated using the most up-to-date census and population estimates. 

The election was held for six positions on council and one mayor.  

The official results as submitted to Municipal Affairs are as follows, with a bold name and an asterisk (*) denoting a candidate who was elected to council:  

Election for Mayor:

·         Sherri Buckle: 784

·         Bob Mattice: 2,148*

·         Ty Mikolas: 72

Election for Councillors:

·         Ryan Bailey: 1,757*

·         Glenn Barnes: 902

·         Raymond Cowell: 1,377*

·         Hussein Elkadri: 515

·         Sarah Fewchuk: 1,186

·         Curtis Huizingh: 339

·         Vicky Lefebvre: 1,856*

·         James Anthony McDonald: 833

·         Bill (William) Parker: 1,754*

·         Chris Vining: 1,809*

·         Dawn Weber: 1,734*

The new mayor and council will be sworn in on November 3. This will be followed by a short Organizational Meeting. The swearing in and Organizational Meeting will be broadcast on the City’s YouTube channel, as well as open to the public. The first official Regular Council Meeting will take place on November 25 at 6:00 p.m.
