Performing Arts group receives grant funding

Cold Lake, AB – The Community Recreation, Art, Culture, and Heritage Investment (CRACH) Grant continues to provide funding for local community groups and organizations.

For its September applications, only one group applied for the grant. The Kinosoo Performing Arts Association applied for $4,500 in funds to support its 2026-2027 performances, and City Council approved the request.

“The Community Grant Advisory Committee meets monthly to review all applications, and we’re very thankful for all the work put into those meetings,” said Mayor Bob Mattice. “The grant used to have longer periods between application deadlines, but groups found they weren’t receiving funds in time for their events. When it was changed to monthly, the committee stepped up and started meeting every month as well.”

Since the beginning of the year, the CRACH program has distributed $156,000 to local organizations in grant funding, including the most recent $4,500 application.
