Energy Centre

Home to the Junior A Cold Lake Aeros, Junior B Cold Lake Ice, Cold Lake Minor Hockey, Cold Lake Figure Skating Club, and numerous drop-in and recreation programs, Imperial Oil Place Arena is arguably the centrepiece of the Energy Centre.

• Bowl-style arena seating encompasses the NHL-size ice surface.
• The arena also boasts a centre-mounted video score clock, 6 dressing rooms, a concession area and fully-licensed lounge for watching hockey practice or gathering for post-game refreshments.
• With standard arena seating for over 1800, the facility can be transformed to host tradeshows, exhibitions and concerts, safely welcoming up to 3500 guests.

Boasting ice year-round, the Cenovus Energy Arena is home to the Cold Lake Figure Skating Club.

The state-of-the-art fitness centre has much to offer including cutting-edge cardio equipment by Techno Gym, fully updated in 2021. Several storeys high and circling the Reid Field House, the CNRL Track offers a whole new view of the Energy Centre.

• Three lanes for walking and running measure 156 meters on the outside, meaning it's easy to calculate your kilometers or miles covered.
• A large area for stretching ensures ample opportunity for warm-up and cool-down after your workout.
• The best part: it's FREE! The CNRL Track is open to everyone, including those who are not Energy Centre membership holders.

Looking for an activity to challenge your body and mind? Strap in and step onto the 4-storey, multi-faced climbing wall. It boasts five auto belays and seven top-rope systems. Some of our staff are Climbing Gym Instructor Level 1 certified and can help you climb to new heights. Please inquire when booking.

• Bookings are available in 50-minute sessions, Wednesday to Sunday (maximum one booking per participant per day) • Parent/guardian must book a time slot for the parent if there is a parent/child ratio needed. Parental supervision is required for children:
• Climbing wall times are available in 50-minute increments and must be pre-booked online. Wednesday to Sunday (maximum one booking per participant per day) *Drop in charges will NOT be applied when booking online. Fees are paid at time of arrival at the Energy Centre prior to your reserved time slot.
• Parental/guardian supervision (must be 16 years or older) is required for children 12 and under. Only children ages 4 and up can use the wall or be in the rock wall area. 
• Maximum of 18 people allowed in the climbing wall area at one time, including parent/guardian supervisors. Strollers and car seats are not allowed in the climbing wall area.
• Climbing wall access is not included in general Energy Centre memberships. Pay at the front desk on your way in, or purchase a climbing wall membership. 

Imperial Park is an outdoor sports and recreation lover's paradise.

• Spread over 120 hectares surrounding the Energy Centre, the park is home to Thomas Varughese Field, an artificial turf facility and grandstand, home to the Cold Lake Fighter Jets Football Club.
• The park also boasts 6 soccer fields, a rugby pitch, 8 ball diamonds, 8 pickleball courts, an off-leash dog park, and the Cold Lake Skatepark.

Catering to kids from 3-12, the Cenovus Energy Children's Playroom includes an indoor play structure, mats, and toys, plus a viewing area for parents. The Playroom is the perfect venue for children's play groups, birthday parties, or other family events and is available for weekday bookings, based on availability.

The Energy Centre has a variety of meeting rooms available to suit your needs. All rooms come with tables, chairs, a projector and access to WiFi. Rent a meeting room.
