Marina

The Cold Lake Marina and boat launch is the gateway to what many call the "best lake in Alberta." Whether you're heading out for a day of waterskiing, dropping a line to catch some lake trout or simply taking a stroll along the breakwater with an ice cream cone, the marina is where fun on the lake begins - no matter what season. The marina property and breakwater are open year round. Stop by during the Christmas season to see the breakwater decorated with festive holiday lights!

The boat launch, marina slips and marina office are open from mid-May to the end of September. Security is on site daily, from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. To reach the marina office (during summer season) call 780-639-2396. To inquire about slip rentals, join the waiting list or apply for non-motorized watercraft storage, contact the Energy Centre at 780-639-6400.

 About the Marina

marina launch

A dual boat launch is located on the southeast side of the marina, next to the marina office. The boat launch is open during marina operating hours.

  • Fuel is available on the dock just north of the boat launch.
  • Free truck and boat trailer parking is available at 901 8 Street, just south of the boat launch entrance. Trailer parking is not available at the marina or boat launch area.
  • Daily boat launch fee: $11.00 (+ GST)
  • Seasonal boat launch pass: $129.00 (+ GST)

Boat slips are available on a first come, first served basis. Because demand for slips is greater than supply, a waiting list is maintained.

  • To add your name to the waiting list, submit the Marina Slip Waiting List Application. A $100 deposit is required to join the waiting list. Once a slip is assigned, the deposit will be applied to the renter's account. The waiting list will be processed according to date of application with slips assigned in that order. Consideration will also be given to overall vessel length, beam and operating characteristics.
  • Annual slip rental fees are based on the length of the vessel. See the rental fee chart
  • Temporary subletting of marina slips is permitted on a case-by-case basis. The City of Cold Lake will make the final decision on each request. Submit an application to sublease.

marina storage lockers

Secure storage lockers are available to store non-motorized watercraft (kayaks, canoes, paddle boards) and accessories (life jackets, wetsuits, oars/paddles).

  • Storage locker rentals are available for the summer season (May-October) for $83.00 (+ GST) each and renters must provide their own locks.
