Monuments and Memorials

A City permit is required prior to the installation of a monument in a City cemetery.

Monuments for in-ground plots can be purchased through a memorial provider; the City does not offer this service.

The Engraving of columbaria niches is arranged by the City, when an application for a Columbaria inscription is recieved.

Memorialization of loved ones without interment (burial) is available on the Memorial Wall (See Memorial Wall plaque inscription).

For memorial regulations, please see Section 9 of the Cemetery Management Bylaw

For memorial specifications, please see Schedule "B" of the Cemetery Management Policy

9.5 The City shall have the authority to refuse to issue a memorial permit to an applicant if the applicant has failed to comply with the requirements of this bylaw and/or those set out in Cold Lake Policy No. 207-AD-19, Cemetery Management Policy. Where such a refusal may occur, the City shall inform the applicant of what is not compliant about the memorial application and the steps that must be taken to resolve the deficiency.
