Plot types available for interments
In-Ground Plots
- Standard Adult Plots
- Allows for either one (1) full burial prior to six (6) cremated remains OR
- Six (6) cremated remains only
- Flat Marker Monument Standard Plot
- Allows for either one (1) full burial prior to six (6) cremated remains OR
- Six (6) cremated remains only
- Single Cremation Plot
- Allows for two (2) cremated remains
- Family Cremation Plot
- Allows for four (4) cremated remains
Columbaria Niches
- Columbarium Single Niche
- Allows for two (2) cremated remains
- Columbarium Double Niche
- Allows for four (4) cremated remains

*In accordance Sections 12 and 13 of the Cemeteries Act RSA 2000, c C-3, indigent persons and veterans as defined by the War Veterans Allowance Act RSC 1985 c W-3 may purchase a plot at 50% of the amount that would ordinarily be charged (using 'resident rate').

How to Purchase a Plot/Niche

- Complete and sign an Interment Rights Application Form
- Upload form and submit payment here
- You can also visit City Hall to complete the form & payment
- You can send the form by email to cemeteries@coldlake.com and mail a cheque (please specify payment method in email)
Transfer of Interment Rights
For transfer of interment rights regulations, please see section 6 of the Cemetery Management Bylaw.
If you have purchased a plot at one of the City's cemeteries and no longer wish to use it, you can:
- Sell it back to The City of Cold Lake
- Transfer it to a third party (family member, friend, etc.)
How to Transfer Interment Rights
- Complete the Transfer of Interment Right Form
- Upload form and submit payment (if applicable) here
- Mail original paperwork for plot purchase to:
