firefighters

We are always looking for new recruits, passionate about serving the community and bettering themselves.

Our many volunteers come from all walks of life and backgrounds. We are teachers, business owners, soccer moms, Canadian Forces members, engineers and everything in between. But we have a few very important things in common:

  • Dedication: Our firefighters are comprehensively trained in the latest fire and rescue techniques through weekly in-house training and skills maintenance. Our professional certification is awarded through the Office of the Alberta Fire Commissioner.
  • Commitment: Cold Lake Fire-Rescue members carry a pager and are ready to respond 24/7. We commit 15 to 20 hours per month for training, responses and meetings. New recruits must successfully pass the Entry Level Firefighting Course.
  • Community: We are a community-based organization and we work hard to support the place we call home. You'll find us participating in local events, volunteering for fundraisers and partnering with other organizations to improve the community and thank residents for their support and commitment to our service.

Think you've got what it takes? Take a look at the Recruitment Information Package and fill out an Application Form. Return your completed application to the Downtown District Fire Station.
