Transfer Station
The Cold Lake Regional Waste Transfer Station is located on the south edge of the City, just east of Highway 28, and is part of the Beaver River Regional Waste Management Commission. The Transfer Station is open year round and operates using a summer and winter schedule. See the Tipping Fees for residential and commercial customers.
All loads arriving at the Transfer Station are subject to inspection for prohibited materials and adherence to standards set out by the Beaver River Regional Waste Management Commission and the City of Cold Lake.
The Transfer Station now accepts Electronic Waste (E-Waste). See what electronic items are accepted.

Accepted Items
The following materials are not collected at the curb and must be dropped off at the Transfer Station during regular business hours:
- Furniture
- Box springs and mattresses
- Electronics (see below)
- Sofas
- Stoves
- *Refrigerators and air conditioners (CFCs must be removed prior to drop off at the landfill or additional fees will apply)
- Tires (rims removed)
- Commercial waste
- Construction and demolition materials (concrete, asphalt, wood, shingles, drywall and roofing)
- Oil (automotive, containers and filters)
- Batteries
- Metal
- Paint and stain
*Refrigerant gases in refrigerators, air conditioners and freezers cause damage to the ozone layer when released into the atmosphere. To reduce damage, refrigerants need to be collected and reprocessed appropriately. Please refer to the Yellow Pages under “Refrigeration” for CFC removal services. A $25.00 processing fee will be charged for units containing refrigerant that do not have a CFC removal tag.
