Building #4

Building #4 is a sanitary sewer lift station located at 1411-28 Street.

Lift stations move water from lower to higher elevations. Once the water is lifted high enough, it can continue flowing by gravity. All of the wastewater from Cold Lake North flows into this building before being pumped nearly five kilometers to Building #9 in Cold Lake South. Over three million litres of wastewater is received here every day! There are three pumps inside this building that pump one thousand liters of wastewater every four seconds. The pumps here alternate here about every 15 minutes. There are two pumps running at all times.
