HCol J’lyn Nye
Honorary Colonel (HCol) J’lyn Nye was appointed to the role at 408 THS in July 2015. Originally from Smiths Falls, ON, she grew up in Belleville and Sault Ste. Marie before pursuing her studies at Confederation College in Thunder Bay, ON, where she earned a Broadcasting Radio and Television Diploma.
Currently serving as the Director of Marketing and Digital Content for the Edmonton Police Service, HCol Nye has an extensive background in media. She previously worked as a talk show host on 630 CHED radio in Edmonton, transitioning to radio after a successful television career. She began broadcasting at CKPR Television in Thunder Bay, spending seven years as the 6 o’clock News Anchor before moving on to Global Television, where she spent a decade working in Regina, SK, and Edmonton, AB. In 2008, she shifted her focus to radio.
Beyond her media career, HCol Nye is a published author, co-writing the biography I’d Trade Him Again: On Gretzky, Politics and the Pursuit of the Perfect Deal about Peter Pocklington.
A steadfast advocate for the military, veterans, and their families, HCol Nye has been deeply involved in numerous initiatives. She has served as Honorary Patron of the Edmonton Military Family Resource Centre since 2010 and sits on the Board of Directors for Veterans House Canada. Her contributions have earned her several distinguished honors, including the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal in recognition of her service to Alberta and her commitment to supporting military members and their families.
Her work has also been recognized within her profession. In 2004, she was awarded the Edward R. Murrow Award for Best International Documentary for Return to Normandy, a film chronicling the opening of the Juno Beach Centre in France. Additionally, she received the Alberta Solicitor General’s Award for her Cold as Ice documentary series on crystal methamphetamine.
HCol Nye remains a dedicated supporter of the military community and continues to champion 408 THS as its members engage in both global and domestic operations.

Sean Greenwood
Sean Greenwood is the President of Canadian UAVs, a leading aerospace company advancing safe and scalable drone operations. With a focus on integrating unmanned aircraft into shared airspace, he has helped position the company at the forefront of BVLOS innovation and detect-and-avoid technology. Under his leadership, Canadian UAVs has partnered with major industry and regulatory stakeholders to validate cutting-edge solutions like the Sparrowhawk radar system. Sean brings a strong vision for the future of aviation, driving the convergence of safety, security, and autonomy in next-generation airspace systems.
Holding a Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography with a concentration in GIS, Dan also has a Transport Canada Advanced RPAS Certificate with Flight Reviewer Rating. He currently chairs the Regulatory Committee for the Aerial Evolution Association of Canada and chairs the RPAS Committee for Alberta Aviation Aerospace Defence Council.
